Jo | Ed Consultancy is a sole-trader education consultancy run by Julia Organ, providing advice and advocacy
support to parents and carers whose children are struggling at school. We are the "data controller" for the

Information shared during advocacy or casework. If we work together on an ongoing basis — for example, helping you prepare for a SEND review or attending a meeting as your advocate — you may share more detailed information with us, which can include:

● Information about your child's educational needs, and in some cases health or wellbeing information
relevant to their support (this is "special category data" under UK GDPR)

GoDaddy hosts our website and automatically collects basic, anonymous site visit data or server logs.
Children's information
Our services are provided to parents and carers, not directly to children. Where you share information about your child with us, you confirm that you have the authority (as their parent or carer) to do so, and that sharing this information with us is in your child's best interests. We handle this information with particular care and only use it for the purpose you've asked us to help with.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet our legal and professional obligations.
General enquiries are kept for up to 12 months; case files and records relating to advocacy work are kept for up to 7 years after our work together ends, in line with standard professional record-keeping practice After this, information is securely deleted or anonymised.
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss or misuse, including secure storage of documents and restricted access to case information.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we're committed to protecting your information appropriately.
